Swiss real estate
The real-estate arm of the Nordmann Group focuses much of its activities on greenfield projects (with and without planning permission) and brownfield redevelopment. It takes a hands-on approach to all its real-estate operations, from drawing up detailed development plans and managing the entire planning permission process to overseeing the construction work. Another area of interest for the Group is the acquisition of operating real-estate assets in need of restructuring or renovation.
Land can be acquired either directly, as forward purchases or leaseholds, and structured as asset or share deals. The Group also offers reversion plans whereby it purchases a piece of real estate from the owner who benefits from the equity released from the sale while enjoying the option to use or live in the property for the remainder of their lifetime.
The costs of our real-estate transactions (including development) range from CHF 5 million to CHF 30 million. In some, we are the sole purchaser, in others, a co-investor. Our activities are concentrated in the cantons of Fribourg, Vaud, Neuchâtel, Valais and Bern, with a particular interest in residential, logistics and commercial developments.
Over the years, the Nordmann Group has expanded its real estate portfolio, which also includes some of its landmark assets like La Galerie (the retail space that home to a 10-screen multiplex cinema and links the Manor department store and the Fribourg-Centre shopping mall), the Grand-Places car park in downtown Fribourg, and a stake in the Givisiez shopping centre.
